Are you fed up of looking in the mirror and seeing your chipped or cracked teeth? Even if your friends and family tell you not to worry about it, do you wish your teeth could look more aesthetically pleasing, so you don’t have to worry about hiding your smile in public anymore?
Perhaps you’re not sure how to go about asking for help because you’re uncertain of your cosmetic options? We perform a lot of smile makeovers here at Marlborough Dental Studio and one of the most popular procedures we offer is having a veneer or dental crown fitted.
If your teeth have suffered only minor damage through accident or injury, we may be able to restore your tooth back to its former glory using thin slivers of ceramic, bonded to the damaged tooth. The result will be very natural looking and it’s likely that people who see the restored tooth will be unaware that parts of it are not made from enamel.
Teeth that are more severely damaged and cannot be corrected with a veneer may benefit from a dental crown. The dental crown will fit over the remains of your original tooth like a cap. It will be custom-made for you from porcelain or composite materials on our CEREC machine. The fact we have invested in the necessary tools to be able to make individual dental crowns that are shaped to suit each customer on site, means we can greatly reduce the amount of time you have to spend waiting for your tooth or teeth to be fixed. There is no need to send the impressions we make of your teeth off to the lab and wait for the relevant parts to be delivered back to us.
In order to fit the dental crown the tooth that requires it will probably need some enamel scraped off it. The shaping of the tooth allows for a more secure fit. When it is applied to the tooth, it goes right up, or right down to the gumline. It will look just like a natural tooth. It should restore your smile and your smile confidence.
If you are aware of the fact that you’re not smiling as much as other people because you’re hiding your damaged teeth, you could be missing out. Studies have shown a great smile can help you get promoted at work and be lucky in love. Additionally when we do smile, research has shown that we experience an endorphin release which causes happiness.
Are your teeth making you unhappy? It doesn’t have to be this way! To book a consultation with Dr Stephen Tarr, or another member of our talented team, please give us a call. We’ll be happy to assess your smile with a view to giving you advice on how it can be improved. Please get in touch.
